Haiku is a form of poetry, first made popular in Japan. The poems traditionally use 17 syllables arranged in three lines of 5-7-5, avoiding similes and metaphors and referring to a season of the year, although the season does not have to be stated and may be implied.

In the vernacular of the day it was "so fun"writing haiku; perhaps some of you will find it diverting and entertaining too.
